Hey, Rachel Gibbons here! I am an educator, yoga + mindfulness teacher, a mother and incredibly passionate about health and wellness for all.

Being a classroom teacher in New York City, I realized the pressure and stress our children are carrying. How can we help them? What tools can we provide children to navigate these everyday challenges? How can we make pausing and taking a breath a habit? This was always on my mind.

The summer of 2017, I decided to incorporate my passion for health and wellness and my love for teaching to become a children's yoga and mindfulness teacher. I completed the Little Flower Yoga (LFY) training and certification process at the Omega Institute. Then in February 2018, I completed the LFY Chair Yoga training. As a classroom teacher I was able to provide my students with mindfulness breaks and incorporate Yoga into our days together. As my passion grew, I developed an after-school program at Dwight School as well as teaching Yoga and mindfulness at public schools in the neighborhood.

During the pandemic, with school being virtual I was lucky enough to teach online via Zoom and Google Classroom both privately and to several schools. Along with teaching remotely, I created over 40 videos for classroom teachers to use.

As we recover from this pandemic and our children return to a new normalcy it’s more important than ever for us to connect as a community to learn mindfulness practices. I believe all children deserve to experience the benefits of yoga and mindfulness, as these tools and skills can be used throughout life for strength, focus, self-regulation and to build confidence.

Meet Mrs. Gibbons
